Artist’s Bio/Resume
Doreen
Adams was born in Scotland in 1948 and emigrated to the US in 1979.
Her love of art began at an early age.
Doreen took
classes in painting and illustration, but other than that, she is mostly
self taught.
Doreen’s
success began when she was inexplicably drawn to the art of mosaics in 2000,
but became totally committed to this art form in 2004.
After research of various materials, she finally graduated to a Venetian
glass called ‘smalti’’. Drawn to it’s luminosity
and vivid colors she combined her love of nature and creating art for
children using the technique of cutting and laying the tesserae to
make an image known in mosaicing circles as ‘painting with glass’.
Doreen is presently working on a series of mosaics
called ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’.
